In the novel Crabbe by William Bell, an inductive leap too far is mad by the main character Crabbe, which leads to the main conflict in the novel. Crabbe is not happy with his life from his parents to his school. He believes that everybody doesn't treat him well, so he decides to a inductive leap too far and decides to run away into the woods. Crabbe doesn't think his problems through, and he decides if he packs up properly he can probably survive alone in the woods. So without hesitation Crabbe leaves and runs away into the wild without no one knowing. This is an inductive leap too far because Crabbe didn't think over the possible life-threatening dangers he might face alone in the wild, and also he lets his feelings judge his opinion. Does he not know that if he falls or gets seriously injured no one will be there to help him. Crabbe should have thought his problems and decisions through before running away all alone. Because of his decision of running away, while in the wild Crabbe almost got attacked by a bear and then he broke his ribs and bones by getting pulled by the current while canoeing and falling off a water fall. The drop from the waterfall almost killed him if it wasn't for a young women near by who saved him. If that women wasn't close by, Crabbe would have certainly died.

Wordle Explained
The purpose of this concrete poem is to show that survival has many impacts on a person. Crabbe's reckless anger lead him to run away and survive alone in a forest. He then met a women named Mary who helped him understand life more and also for why he ran away from his problems. But at the end Crabbe had to face the death of his newly close friend Mary, which helped him understand that he had to go back home to his family and face his problems. To create this purpose I made the word "survival" larger than the other words to show that the main purpose is directed towards how Crabbe had to survive alone in the forest. The other words like "understanding", "reckless-anger", and "death" are smaller than the word "survival", because this is to show the outcome and elements of survival. Wordle was a pretty cool software to use to make this poem, and I think it is a very helpful tool to use when making a poem, especially a concrete one.

Significant Characteristic
Two significance elements from the book that I am currently reading, Crabbe by William Bell, is the setting and the event that leads up to the setting. The setting in my book is the woods where Crabbe runs away into. This is significance to the story because this is where Crabbe wants to run away to from all his problems, and also the setting changes the way he looks at life, for example,"I lay there all night, trying to figure the answer. Was my life very different from others'? Were we all alone, in spite of the illusion of comfort from other people? Or was I only depressed by the dark, alien bush that wrapped me like a cloak?" (Bell 88). This text example shows that he starts questioning his life and what it means. Also the woods is where he gets into his accident which leads to the main plot of the story. The other significant element of my book is the event that leads Crabbe to run away into the woods. Crabbe hates his life and all the problems that he has to face. So he decides to run away, and he decides the best place to go is to the woods where his father and him would go camping in couple of weeks. He takes a lot of planning on how to run away into the woods and not leave any trace, for example, "So I planned the escape carefully. It was to be the one perfect act I'd perform in my life, pure, clean, like the edge of a razor." (Bell 19).

Film Adaption
Part B
The book that I am currently reading is Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. If I was hired to write the screen play for a film adaption of my novel I would probably have to cut out a lot out of the story, unless I want to make a long movie like the Lord of the Rings. My book is about 860 pages, so if I were to make a short movie, about an hour and a half, I would probably cut parts that don't really add up to the main story line. All the extra details in my book that aren't really needed would probably have to be cut out. I would just stick to the main plot of the story and put in the main parts that are crucial to the plot. Personally, I would make a long movie like at least two to three hours like the Lord of the Rings. A movie was made before on the first book of this trilogy called Eragon. It was a short movie, running about 104 minutes, but it didn't get a really good rating due to a lot of extra detail that was left out that would of made the movie much better. I would hire actors that would play the characters role very well, and it would probably take a long time to make if I were to make them like the Lord of the Rings movies.

Suspense
The book that I am currently reading is "Night" by Elie Wiesel. A suspenseful moment in my book is when the Nazi's are deciding whether to send Elie and his father to the gas chambers to be killed depending on whether they look strong or weak. Elements that were used to create suspense during this part was the setting and characters. Both Elie and his father are Jews who are sent to a Nazi concentration camp during World War 2. Also there is a protagonist in the story, and that being Elie Wiesel. Elie has a powerful motivation to survive the holocaust with his father. Elie and his father share this special bond that they didn't have before, and this creates a suspense to the reader that you don't want to see them get separated or allow one of them to die. The setting is set at a time of great depression and chaos. Jews are getting violated and murdered for no reasons. This builds up to the suspense and how the character reacts to its environment. Also there are Nazi's everywhere which builds up to the suspense as well.

Point of View
The point of view for my novel Night by Elie Wiesel is that of first person. I think the author choose to do this novel in first person to show the life of a Jew during the holocaust and give the reader a feeling of how it felt for them in their perspective and what they went through. The point of view contributes to the narrative because reading through a real survivor of the holocaust , gives a feeling of depth and reality of what the Nazi's did during World War 2. If I were given the choice to change the point of view I would not change it, because I believe reading through first person perspective for this situation is ideal and gives the reader an image or idea of the horror that the Jews went through during the holocaust.

Character Traits
The main character in my novel, The Monster, is Steve Harmon. I believe Steve Harmon to be a very unique character. Due to what is said in the novel, "Sixteen-year old STEVE HARMON is sitting on the edge of a metal cot, head in hands. He is thin, brown skinned.(Myers 7)", we know that he is a young black teenager. He is very determined, because through out the book when Steve is in jail he is determined to show that he is not weak, for example, "I didn't shout out in my sleep. That would look weak to everybody. It's not good to be weak in here(Myers 64)." Also he is scared and he really hates living in prison, for example,"The best time to cry is at night, when the lights are out and someone is being beaten up and screaming for help(Myers 1)" and "I hate this place. I can't write it enough times to make it look the way I feel. I hate, hate, hate this place!!(Myers 46)." Lastly Steve is depressed and almost suicidal when he is prison, for example, "But here i am, maybe on the verge of losing my life, or the life i used to have." and "When she left and I had to go back to the cell area, i was more depressed than i have been since I've been here(Myers 205)."

Stock Characters
In the TV show Two and a Half Men, they're is pretty much a stock character in every episode. You don't get know a whole lot about the character, but just by the way they look or act you can tell what the specific characters role is. For example, when Charlie and Allen go to the hospital they meet up with a doctor. The doctor is an Indian, which is a common stereotype towards Indian. He also has an Indian accent, which puts another stereotype towards him. Also the doctor is wearing the surgical uniform with a stethoscope around his neck and also a has name tag on his chest stating his identity as a doctor. Due to all this minor information, the audience is told that this man is a doctor.

Starting Mood
The mood that is being created in the opening of my novel MONSTER is a dark, serious and depressing mood. This is probably due to the theme of the novel being about the struggle of a 16 years old black teenager who commits a crime and is arrested and is sent to prison for life. Three direct quotes that I think reveal efficiently of the mood of my novel is in the beginning, "The best time to cry is at night, when the lights are out and someone is being beaten up and screaming for help." This quote shows how dark and scary prison can be when your all alone. Another quote is, "If anybody knows that that your are crying, they'll start talking about it and soon it'll be your turn to get beat up when the lights go out." This quote shows how serious prison and the people in it can be. The last quote, "They take away your shoelaces and your belt so you can't kill yourself no matter how bad it is. I guess making you live live is part of the punishment.", I believe shows how depressing life in prison can get for the character in my story. Therefore the overall mood in the beginning of my novel is not that of a happy one, but instead a dark and depressing one.
