Eleanor Roosevelt was Americans most influence First Lady. She grew into a women with great sensitivity to the underprivileged of all creeds, races, and nations. Both of her parent passed away, which took vast amount of courage to overcome the burden. Her quote is an excellent example, which portrays physical and moral courage. Roosevelt undoubtedly explains that there is no gain. If you are in fear of something, than you cannot run away from it. You have to have the mental strength to overcome it.
- In the movie Star Wars, Luke Skywalker has to overcome his fear against Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. He knows that he has to eventually face them, so he trains himself with Yoda and eventually has the courage to face his enemies.
- Bruce Wayne has to face his fear of bats in order to become the Batman.

Pericles was a Greek politician and statesman in the time of 461 BC. This quote means that freedom is something you can get if you truly preserve and fight for it. It will surely be yours if you guard it. This means that others prolong for freedom, even though they often lack the element of courage.
- Martin Luther King Junior portrays a great example of this quote. He had the quality of spirit to speak the truth directly, which is a fundamental necessity for democracy even knowing that he could be shot and killed.
- Iqbal Masih became a slave worker when his parents sold him to a carpet weaver when he was four years old. At age 10, Iqbal escaped and began to speak out against child labor. People listened to him all around the world and also started helping him as well. He was eventually shot and killed when he was 12 years old.
