Quotation One

Courage

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do"
                                                                                                                               - Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt was Americans most influence First Lady. She was also the founder of the UN Association of the United States. She grew into a women with great sensitivity to the underprivileged of all creeds, races, and nations. Roosevelt had a very difficult past. Both of her parent passed away, which took vast amount of courage to overcome the burden. Her quote is an excellent example, which portrays physical and moral courage. Roosevelt undoubtedly explains that there is no gain. If you are in fear of something, than you cannot run away from it. To show a great amount of personal strength and courage is to face your fears and to find a way to overcome and defeat it. You have to have the mental strength to overcome it. You cannot run away from something that can be overcomed. Mentally, courage is no something that is not handed to you, you have to earn it, and that's how you gain it. By being involved in politics, Roosevelt had the courage to stand up for what she believed in; the courage to follow public rules and laws and insist that other people follow them...
