
...The movie, Freedom Writers, directed by Richard LaGravenese, introduces a story of inner city kids raised on drive-by shootings and hard-core attitude. A teacher comes along and guides them by making them tell their own stories, and hear the stories of others. They discover the power of tolerance and reclaim their shattered lives. This movie was about having the courage to speak their mind and avoiding silence, simply because they were afraid that other people might not agree with them, and of course the conflict is unpleasant. They had the courage to speak the truth all the time because lies are the biggest and most obvious sort of cowardice that all of them hide behind. This was revealed in the movie. Thus, many of the characters in the film show moral courage and do the right thing even when it will cost them something, such as getting bullied and standing up to them...
